Population

Between 1996 and 2001, the census population of Haldimand County rose about 4.0%, from just over 42,000 to about 43,750. Preliminary population counts based on the 2006 census suggest that between 2001 and 2006, the census population of Haldimand County rose about 3.4%, to 45,212. The 2006 estimated population is 46,796, according to McSweeney & Associates figures that are based on Manifold Data Mining estimates, which adjust for undercoverage of the Statistics Canada census.
